  • Tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Washi tape
  • Glue gun or super glue
  • Stir sticks/short skewers (you can find them at places like Party City, World Market, and craft stores)

Assembly

Take two pieces of tissue paper, laid on top of one another, and cut a strip that it about 8 inches long and two inches tall. Cut 1/4-inch strips down the length of the 8-inches, not cutting through all the way (see image below). Place the stir stick about 1/2-inch from the bottom, where the non-cut piece of tissue is. Use your glue to secure the tissue to the stick.

Roll the tissue around the stir stick. Wrap your washi tape around the tissue at the bottom, and use more glue to secure the washi tape to itself when you get to the end. Fluff the tissue tassel and you’re good to go! Feel free to use more glue as you go along if you feel like the tissue is sliding around too much or if something doesn’t feel secure.
