BAR SNACKS SERIES IS HERRRRREEEEE!
I have been wanting to start this series for-ev-er. There’s only one thing I love more than a great cocktail: a great cocktail with SNACKS. I’m not that picky, either—I’ll take bar nuts, olives, even those Costco tubs of snack mix (you know the one with the seedy crackers, the pretzels, the cheeseballs. Yes please.
So, I thought it would make sense for The Shared Sip to be your go-to for delicious snacks that you can serve alongside your delicious cocktails.
First up are these everything bagel pretzel bites. I KNOW. Over NYE my pal Gena served pretzel bites stuffed with those insanely tasty little wienies—and they were made out of biscuit dough. My mind was blown. I knew I needed to adapt these to be the perfect bar snack.
The recipe is super simple, and you can totally serve them without the dip (though the dip is so. good.) I think these would be awesome as a little brunch-y snack, but definitely think it works for an evening app too.
I paired them with an Italian Greyhound—a no-fuss cocktail made with vodka, fresh ruby red grapefruit juice, and Aperol. It’s so refreshing and goes quite well with the salty flavors of the pretzel bites.
I can’t wait to share more bar snacks with you here! Do you have any favorites? Comment below or share them over on Instagram!
Everything Bagel Pretzel Bites
- 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough
- Everything bagel seasoning (you can find this at Trader Joe’s or Amazon)
- 1/4 c. baking soda
Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Flatten each piece with your hand, then fold the sides in and roll up. These don’t have to be perfect. Next, fill a deep skillet with 2 inches of water. Add the baking soda and heat over high heat, bringing water to a boil. Once boiling, turn burner to medium-low to a simmer, then drop 4-8 biscuit bites into the water. Allow to simmer for about 30 seconds, until the dough has puffed up a bit. Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops with the everything bagel seasoning Bake for about 10 minutes, until the outsides have browned. Keep an eye on them, they can burn quickly! Repeat with the remaining dough.
